Adem?s de presentar una feroz resistencia frente a a la desproporcionada ofensiva lanzada por los invasores, la insurgencia iraqu? ha sido capaz de golpear con fuerza en otras zonas de Iraq e incluso de echar al ej?rcito extranjero y a los colaboracionistas del centro de otra ciudad del llamado tri?ngulo sun?. Los norteamericanos se han tenido que refugiar en sus bases para evitar un ba?o de sangre, mientras que los milicianos lo han celebrado con manifestaciones de alegr?a en los lugares emblem?ticos.
