Mil muertos en acciones de combate desde que se produjo la invasi?n de Irak, la mayor?a de ellos despu?s que que Bush proclamara solemnemente el fin de la guerra y su victoria sobre las fuerzas enemigas. Y ello a pesar del cese moment?neo de las hostilidades de Al Sadr y la promesa de jugar al envenenado proceso pol?tico dirigido por los invasores. Los shi??es no entrar?n globalmente en la resistencia hasta que no vean claro que esta pueda expulsar a los americanos y brit?nicos de su suelo. Entonces, para no perder el poder que tanto ans?an, seguro que se sumar?an a un carro del que no han tirado a la espera de recoger las migajas que les proporcione su traici?n al pueblo iraqu?.<\/p>\n<p>Pero, disquisiciones aparte, el m?gico guarismo tendr? m?s repercusiones en clave interna yankee que sobre la situaci?n real en el terreno. Es posible que si Kerry logra encauzar la situaci?n, pueda recortar la ventaja de 7 puntos que le dan a Bush las encuestas. Y aunque una hipot?tica victoria no vaya a variar ostensiblemente la pol?tica internacional que ahora practican los republicanos, s? que permitir? ciertos mejoras sociales para los m?s desfavorecidos y se rebajar? el nivel de agresividad hacia el resto del mundo.
