Aunque puede parecer un ejercicio macabro, realmente, la guerra acabar? cuando la opini?n p?blica americana mayoritariamente no soporte el continuo chorreo de bajas que a diario sufre su ej?rcito. La cifra de mil ser? clave ante la reelecci?n presidencial de noviembre. Pero tambi?n ha de tenerse en cuenta de que, aunque logren hacerse con el control de Irak y sus recursos, de los costes humanos y econ?micos que ahora tengan que soportar depender? que puedan iniciar nuevas aventuras coloniales contra Siria, Ir?n u otro pa?s ?rabe d?scolo. El asunto no es balad?. <\/p>\n<p>Los datos reales de bajas no est?n del todo claros, sobre todo del lado iraqu?. El ?ltimo informe serio que public? el pasado d?a 9 El Pa?s arroj? los datos que colocar? m?s abajo, aunque hay que tener en cuenta que no aparecen los muertos en la ?ltima escalada contra las milicias de Al Sadr ni en los otros focos de resistencia activos en todo el pa?s:<\/p>\n<p>Estados Unidos: 924 bajas, 687 muertos en combate y 237 en otras situaciones.<br \/>\nReino Unido: 60 bajas totales, 21 y 39, respectivamente.<br \/>\nOtros pa?ses de la coalici?n invasora: 59 muertos, 52 y 7.<br \/>\nSoldados y combatientes iraqu?es: entre 4895 y 6370<br \/>\nCiviles iraqu?es: entre 11.487 y 13.458<\/p>\n<p>Desde la publicaci?n de estos datos se han producido un total de 28 v?ctimas mortales en las filas americanas, lo que acerca bastante a la temida cifra de mil ca?dos por el oro negro mesopot?mico.
