A poco m?s de un a?o de su toma de posesi?n ya tiene en su haber otro fiasco en pol?tica internacional: el fracaso de la Cumbre de Barcelona y el m?s que seguro fracaso de la Conferencia de Copenhague sobre cambio clim?tico, la sucesora del Tratado de Kioto al cual EEUU tampoco quiso adherirse en su d?a.<\/p>\n<p>El problema ha sido el de siempre: la negativa al compromiso con una reducci?n concreta de emisiones de gases invernadero. Buenas intenciones de palabra pero nada m?s ?os suena? Obama en estado puro. Otros estados han avisado que si Estados Unidos mantiene esta postura en diciembre en Copenhague, imitar?n su actitud y se limitar?n a firmar un bonito documento sin ning?n contenido efectivo. En ese caso no habr? acuerdo para afrontar el cambio clim?tico durante el periodo 2012-2020.<\/p>\n<p>La propuesta sobre la que se trabaja es que los pa?ses m?s industrializados deben reducir sus emisiones entre un 25 y un 40% en 2020 con respecto a 1990, aunque muchos cient?ficos apuntan que deber?a incrementarse a un 50% con objeto de evitar que la temperatura del planeta aumente m?s de 1,5?C sobre los registros de la ?poca preindustrial y afecte negativamente a los pa?ses m?s vulnerables y a las poblaciones afincadas en las ?reas litorales.<\/p>\n<p>Todo indica que EEUU quiere seguir compitiendo con el resto del mundo mediante estrategias desleales, sin estado de bienestar, sin limitaciones ambientales y con una masa ingente de asalariados provenientes en buena parte de la inmigraci?n <em>ilegal<\/em>.
