Para impedir quedar en evidencia ante todo el mundo ?con la que est? cayendo? como uno de los graves problemas para la paz en Oriente Medio y mostrar una postura tan parcial ante el conflicto que le incapacita como mediador, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavozdegalicia.es\/mundo\/2011\/02\/18\/00031298045803525207824.htm\">Obama no dud? en amenazar telef?nicamente a la marioneta de Abbas<\/a> con graves repercusiones en las relaciones bilaterales si no cejaba en su empe?o de llevar la resoluci?n ante el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU. Finalmente, Abbas no dio marcha atr?s so pena de no provocar a?n m?s las iras de su pueblo y ayer viernes fue llevado a votaci?n.<\/p>\n<p>El resultado no pudo ser peor para EEUU. De 15 miembros del Consejo, 14 votaron a favor de la propuesta y s?lo <a href=\"http:\/\/noticias.terra.com.pe\/internacional\/eeuu-veta-resolucion-contra-las-colonias-en-el-consejo-de-seguridad-de-la-onu,add5e852d7a3e210VgnVCM10000098f154d0RCRD.html\">EEUU se opuso usando su derecho a veto <\/a>como miembro permanente del organismo surgido tras el reparto de poder de la II Guerra Mundial. La resoluci?n fue rechazada para regocijo de la oficina de Netanyahu y su gobierno que ha mostrado p?blicamente su agradecimiento. Los negociadores palestinos hab?an tenido la delicadeza de haber redactado el proyecto de resoluci?n usando literalmente las mismas palabras que EEUU hab?a escrito en anteriores y recientes ocasiones. Ni siquiera eso ha sido suficiente. Obama ha preferido nuevamente perjudicar la imagen de su pa?s en estos momentos tan delicados para su papel en el mundo ?rabe antes que contrariar a Israel demostrando un servilismo hacia el sionismo absolutamente pat?tico que no podr? ocultar a las masas musulmanas enfervorecidas que en estos d?as se manifiestan contra los s?trapas que mantienen en la regi?n el status quo favorable a EEUU e Israel a costa de reprimir violentamente a sus pueblos.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavanguardia.es\/internacional\/20110219\/54116993581\/ashton-recuerda-que-los-asentamientos-israelies-en-cisjordania-son-ilegales.html\">La UE, por una vez y sin que sirva de precedente, se ha desmarcado de la pol?tica de Obama<\/a> por medio de las declaraciones de la?Alta Representante de Pol?tica Exterior y de Seguridad Com?n de la UE,?Catherine Ashton, quien ha criticado hoy la postura de EEUU el?Consejo de Seguridad de la?ONU sobre?los?asentamientos israel?es en Cisjordania, y le ha recordado que, para los Veintisiete, las colonias son absolutamente ilegales.<\/p>\n<p>EEUU ha tenido suerte porque la noticia ha pasado bastante desapercibida en occidente entre este ambiente internacional tan convulso por el que atravesamos, pero es bien probable que los manifestantes de Oriente Medio tengan unos gramos m?s de rabia y algunas consignas m?s que corear durante las protestas de este fin de semana.
