El paisaje del otro lado del Estrecho de Gibraltar es una aut\u00e9ntica pasada, el relieve costero es mucho m\u00e1s abrupto que su vertiente europea y proporciona vistas como la que os he subido de Laila, o como le llamamos los espa\u00f1olitos, la Isla del Perejil.<\/p>\n<p>Este pedacito de roca se hizo tristemente famoso porque caus\u00f3 un conflicto diplom\u00e1tico con Marruecos y una refriega militar que bien pod\u00eda haber desembocado en algo mucho m\u00e1s serio. El valor estrat\u00e9gico o militar de Laila es absolutamente inexistente, all\u00ed no vive ni un alma, s\u00f3lo una cabrera rife\u00f1a que llevaba all\u00ed a pastar a sus animales en una barquita. La isla s\u00f3lo es una afrenta permanente m\u00e1s hacia el pueblo marroqu\u00ed, como sucede con otro pe\u00f1asco que fotografi\u00e9 cerca de Alhucemas, el <a href=\"http:\/\/homepage.mac.com\/macduro\/.Pictures\/alhucemas.jpg\">Pe\u00f1\u00f3n de V\u00e9lez de la Gomera<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>El patrioterismo barato de los populares estuvo a punto de meternos en un conflicto de grandes e imprevisibles proporciones para preservar un \u00ednfimo resto de aquel imperio colonial en el que nunca se pon\u00eda el sol.
