Turqu\u00eda ha dado su visto bueno definitivo al env\u00edo de tropas (10.000 hombres) para colaborar con la invasi\u00f3n norteamericana. Sin embargo, el gobierno interino iraqu\u00ed, designado a dedo por la potencia ocupante, ha rechazado tal posibilidad de manera un\u00e1nime enfrent\u00e1ndose formalmente a ella en un acto de alcance desconocido. Ni kurdos, ni chiitas, ni sunitas presentan excesivas simpat\u00edas por los turcos que en muchas ocasiones en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se han atrevido a invadir el norte de Irak para represaliar a las gentes del kurdist\u00e1n. Dif\u00edcil panorama se le presenta ahora a la administraci\u00f3n republicana, que ve\u00eda en Turqu\u00eda una de sus tres grandes bazas para aflojar la presi\u00f3n sobre su ej\u00e9rcito y as\u00ed ahorrar costes en met\u00e1lico y en vidas humanas.
