Sin decisi?n inmediata para enviar amas. Otras sanciones se mantienen?, dijo el ministro de Exteriores brit?nico, William Hague, en su cuenta de Twitter. De esta forma la UE no extender? su embargo de armas a la oposici?n siria, que expira el pr?ximo d?a 31.<\/p>\n<p>El ministro espa?ol de Exteriores, Jos? Manuel Garc?a-Margallo, detall? que todos los Estados miembros se han comprometido a no entregar ning?n equipo hasta el 1 de agosto y a respetar toda una serie de condiciones.<\/p>\n<p>El ministro indic? que todas las sanciones vigentes contra el r?gimen de Bashar al Assad se prorrogar?n por un a?o.<\/p>\n<p>Dichas sanciones incluyen una gran bater?a de medidas diplom?ticas, financieras y comerciales contra Damasco. Londres llevaba meses insistiendo en el levantamiento del embargo de armas, que era rechazado de entrada por una mayor?a de pa?ses, un grupo que en los ?ltimos d?as fue perdiendo efectivos, entre ellos Espa?a.<\/p>\n<p>Seg?n Garc?a-Margallo, el Gobierno se vio forzado a ese giro por la evoluci?n de las circunstancias en Siria, la internacionalizaci?n del conflicto y la necesidad de tratar de acelerar su fin.<\/p>\n<p>Este lunes, Austria se erigi? como el gran cr?tico de la iniciativa impulsada por el Reino Unido y, en menor medida, por Francia.<\/p>\n<p>Tras horas de negociaciones, los ministros de los Veintisiete no lograron una posici?n com?n sobre el embargo a la oposici?n, por lo que ?ste desaparecer? el pr?ximo d?a 31.<\/p>\n<p>A este respecto, el analista internacional Juan Luis Gonz?lez P?rez est? seguro de que las armas que los pa?ses europeos podr?an suministrar a los opositores en Siria caer?n en manos de los grupos extremistas.<\/p>\n<p>?Por el terreno, en el campo de batalla, quien controla la situaci?n es el bando de los autodenominados rebeldes de Al Qaeda y el Frente al Nusra y los batallones terroristas que a?n quedan en el pa?s.
